I’m excited to be teaching the following creative writing workshops over the coming months

Shedding Skins – Wednesday 14th October, 10.30am – 1pm πŸ“–πŸ“š

This is a workshop for teens that I’ll be running at the Hobart Library over the school holidays βœ¨πŸ–Š

Explore the art of storytelling through folklore, myth and the uncanny. Shedding Skins invites young writers to discover the core elements of story-building, develop their creative practice, and experiment with techniques inspired by folklore, transformation and strange tales. Through guided exercises and discussion, participants will gain tools to create compelling characters, settings and narratives of their own.

If you have young people in your life keen to learn about storytelling, writing craft and folklore, send them my way! For ages 12-17

Place and World building at Fullers Bookshop – Saturday 24th October, 2.30 -4.30pm

Discover all the tools for creating your own unique story world. Kids will come away with a map of their story world and a number of scenes showcasing descriptive writing, along with exercises to take home.

For ages 7-12.

Point of View at Fullers Bookshop – Saturday 21st November, 2.30-4.30pm

Learn the basics of each point of view technique for storytelling. Kids will come to understand the pros and cons of each method and discover what suits their story best, with lots of experimenting along the way.
