The most exciting book mail arrived the other day… my advanced reading copies of my debut novel, ‘Daughters of the Tide’ !!

To say it was surreal to see my novel in book form, to see my name on its gorgeous cover and my words in print, is an understatement. The thrill has not left me and I find myself staring at my book in all its physical glory multiple times a day. Feeling the weight of my words in my hands is such a beautiful reminder that this is real. That the countless hours, days, weeks, years, of writing and editing and dreaming has paid off.

This story was inspired by many things (of which I’ll delve more into over the coming months), but one of the biggest inspirations was the ocean. Those who know me well know that I can’t spend too long away from the sea without getting twitchy. I have salt in my veins and being close to the sea is a physical need as much as an emotional one. I wanted to write a story that explores this inescapable pull, and what might happen if one was separated from it, or it became a place of fear rather than refuge…
