Since June this year I’ve been running a monthly fairytale themed bookclub at Fullers Bookshop. As a complete fairytale and folklore nut, it’s been an absolute joy to connect with so many wonderful fellow fairytale lovers, and to have such open and lively discussions about the gorgeous books on our list.
So far we’ve read ‘The River Wife’ by Heather Rose and ‘Sea Hearts’ by Margo Lanagan – both brilliant stories with strong ties to water, in all its forms, and water-dwelling creatures.
Our August book was ‘The Briar Book of the Dead’ by AG Slatter, a fabulously dark and witchy tale filled with ghosts and magic and family secrets.
