I’m absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted for the ASA/HQ Fiction Prize. Opportunities like this one go such a long way in supporting unpublished writers, giving visibility and a chance to present a completed manuscript for consideration, not to mention encouragement.
Funnily enough it wasn’t until I received a message of congratulations from a dear friend, which prompted me to check my emails, that I realised! Regardless of the outcome, I’ll be riding this high for many months to come.
Thank you so much to the ASA and HQ for running this wonderful prize, and to the judges for taking the time to read my novel. I’m overjoyed that the baby I’ve poured so many hours and love into has resonated with people.
And congratulations to all the other shortlisted writers!
